NECO examination is a senior school certificate examination conducted by Nigeria ministry of education.
unlike WAEC, NECO examination is only for Nigerian.

here are the list of the things required by the board of NECO for any student. who wish to write NECO examination.
1. you must be a senior secondary school student.
NECO examination is only available for students in their SS3 class, students in any other class below this SS 3 will not be allowed to register for this examination.
2. you must be a Nigerian.
NECO examination is only available for students in Nigeria.
unlike WAEC which is available in: Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, Gambia and serialone. NECO is only for Nigerians.
you must identify yourself as a Nigerian before you will be eligible to write this NECO examination.
Registration Requirements for NECO 2022
- Compulsory biometric capturing.
this is done in your NECO registration center, it’s done by taking your finger print and facing scanning data.
this is also called thumb and face scanning.
Compulsory biometric capturing will cost the candidate one thousand naira when doing it.
- choosing of NECO subjects.
all the NECO students are required to provide the subject they wish to write in the examination.
unlike WAEC, the subject written by NECO candidates is ranged from eight to nine, WAEC made their own to be nine Subjects, you can either chose eight or nine subjects in the NECO.

the board of NECO has made it compulsory for all students to write the : English language, mathematics and one other nigeria language studies.
- 4 Copies of Passport photograph.
you are required to provide four copies of your passport to the NECO examination registration board.
the passport will be use just like the one you submitted to WAEC board.
one will be use to attach on your NECO scratch card, your school will hold one and the NECO examination board will hold one for identification purposes.
- The Candidate’s address,Maiden/Guardian Names.
you are required to provide your complete address, both residential, origin and place of birth.
you are also required to provide you guardian full name.
- valid email address.
all the candidates must provide a valid email address, this is mainly for communication purposes.
the NECO examination board of directors will use this email address to send you notification about any update and news concerning your NECO result.
- Local Government Area and State of Origin
your are required to provide an identification letter showing that you are from the local government area and State you claimed to be from.
you can get local government area and State of Origin letter in your local government head quarter.
this letter will help them to fully verify your profile.
